Sander has had a strong interest in astronomy since being a kid but didn't realize what was possible with modest equipment until he got 'Seeing in the dark' by Timothy Ferris about 5 years ago from his wife. Reading that book made him buy a cheap refractor and things developed from there. First with a C8 loaner from the SJAA (http://www.sjaa.net/) and then a C11 on an Atlas mount.
